Where have all the sports gone? By Colm Larkin (5th class) In North East England it did break out, Now many animals have foot and mouth. Ireland and Denmark to Dublin they did go, only to find the pitch covered in snow. Because of the disease known as foot and mouth, Sports were cancelled North, East, West and South. The races at Cheltenham are under doubt, For sporting events there will be a drought. The greyhound races are off for some time, For some trainers that seems like an absolute crime. Ireland against Wales is off till a later date. If youâre thinking of going itâll be a long wait. All of these sports are being put out, because of a disease called foot and mouth. Â |

By Robert McGrath (5th class) It had eventually come after months of delay, It had finally come it was final day. It involved togher and Scoil Oilbhéir, It was cold but no one did care. As Togher emerged there was a great cheer, when Oilbhéir came out there was a silence most queer. The wind was rough and it was partially snowing, a victory for Togher the scoreboard was showing. Then the whistle blew and it was all over, it was 2-2 for Oilbhéir but 5-4 for Togher. W ehad won the cup for the second year running, because our team was great ans very cunning. When they received the cup we all felt good, to win it again next year maybe we could.

ByCian and John Finally, Lent arrived. Lent is a time when we learn about Jesus’ spending 40 days and nights in the desert preparing for his death. Mr. Foley made the sign of the cross on our foreheads with ash to remind us that we all die and return to ash and to be ready to go to heaven. Lent is about being prepared. Our class collected money for Trocaire. We gave up bars, sweets and going to the shop. The school collected money to send to Trocaire to help the poor and the homeless. We think that every government in the world should stop slavery. Since 1973 Trocaire has supported more than 6,000 programmes in 60 Countries around the world and our money is going to help.
