Parents
The curriculum recognises the vital role of parents as partners in education. It is envisaged that curriculum planning at school level will be a
collaborative process involving communication and consultation with parents on broad policy issues.
There must also be planning with parents to realise and maximise their support for curriculum change. Good home-school links will be a vital
factor in successful implementation, particularly in the early stages when new methodologies and approaches will need to be understood.
Where possible parents will be encouraged to lend their expertise to support particular curriculum initiatives. In the complex process of
managing curriculum change the importance of planning together as a school community cannot be over-emphasised.
